First Steps

You've already taken the first step.  Coming to a place of acceptance that you need help and making the effort to find it is a brave first step.  I'm grateful that you are here.

Your next step is to reach out to me by phone, email, or the contact form provided for you here on my site.  I'll get back with you within 24 hours to schedule a free 30 minute consultation in order to discuss your concerns and get some information on how I might be able to serve you. During this consultation, I encourage you to ask any questions you might have for me. This is a time for you to become acquainted with me as a counselor, ease any apprehensions you might have about the counseling process, and allow me to initially chart our course based on the information you provide. We can meet by telehealth or in the office in a secure, safe environment, free from judgment and completely confidential.

Once we have had the opportunity to connect and make the decision to move forward, the last step is to schedule your first session based on your availability. I will provide you with practice documents to complete prior to our first session that will provide me with more information and allow us to start setting goals in line with your treatment plan. I generally meet with clients either weekly or biweekly based on the needs of the client.  

The most important part of the counseling process is the therapeutic relationship built between the counselor and the client based on trust.  My goal will always be to make sure we are moving towards the goals decided upon and helping you to feel supported each and every step of the way.
